In a single confusing and terrifying day, millions of the dead rise up as spirits on their respective planets. The Spirits do not understand the meaning behind their arisal, nor does anyone else. Many want to resume their old lives, but since most died generations ago, they do not know where to go and what to do. Most Spirits end up joining the Elemental League and contemplating history, then resolve to do what they can to make the future better for all the galaxy. Some hunt Spirits with magic technology, but the Elementals keep these people away from Spirit-inhabited planets, excepting the few times when the Spirits come back with malicious intent.
