A trend in archeological finds is made popular when million-year-old remains of a cat-person civilization called Nekopotamia are unearthed on a number of planets. From all these sites, a single strand of DNA was recovered. Using this DNA, scientists make a single complete clone of a Nekopotamian, a cat-woman named Princess Kasumi. Her body is grown at an accellerated pace and cryogenically frozen, and GA labs learn from the data that the ancient Neko DNA is remarkably similar to that of Humans. They are able to make new species of Demi-humans using data gleaned from the study of Kasumi, most of which are produced for commercial purposes such as slaves, pets, and warriors. Outraged, the CTS and EL demand that that the GA stop their experimentation and release all the enslaved Demi-humans. After the two factions press their military might and convince the AP to stay out of the conflict, the GA does as requested and allows the Demi-humans to become part of the EL and CTS. The DNA sample used to make Princess Kasumi is lost, and her body is stolen back and forth between the factions, but she is never awakened.
