Gibson SG-A pale green Gibson SG with pink 'veins'. (In Dorm)
Eagle Eyed-Roe’s training and minor retinal enhancements allows him to be much more precise with his shots than the average foot soldier; a ‘gift’ from his actual life.
Flight-Roe’s wings are powerful enough to lift him fully off of the ground, meaning that yes; he can fly.
Bad Liar-Roe has a habit of stuttering and blushing slightly when lying, due to moral standards.
Curse: Don't start a fight-Attack reduced to 0 first round of combat if started by Roe instigating it.
Damage Magnet-Roe‘s career as a designated marksman means that while he is supposed to pick off high-risk targets, he’s also the one who stands out as needing to be taken down first.
Elemental Weaknesses: Entropy and Wind-Despite all of his enhancements and training, Roe’s Divine body and affiliation for purity set him up as a naturally weak person to Entropy and Wind.
Special Abilities-Restoring Light (20HP/Day), Shapechange (4/Day), Big/Small Guns
Roe’s Spells-(Unless stated otherwise, all effects last for one round. Casting Limit is 7MP.)
General Personality-Roe generally tries to stay an easy-going person, however his blunt nature sometimes brings him off as a bit of a jerk. None the less he returns the kindness of others and attempts to keep friends happy, even at the cost of his own patience or preferences. Despite a few of his bad habits such as constant swearing and a psychological addiction to cigarettes, Roe seeks to simply keep his friends close and work on his own projects, though the former is often put before the later, easily stressing him out.
Despite this, he finds it hard not to hold a grudge against people, and seems to have a deep-seeded hatred for racism and prejudice, often to the point of outbursts and threats of violence. As such, he has an open mind for all people, but is quick to attack those who are intolerant.
Normal Appearance-Roe’s body is very thin in structure, trimmed of most fat and sporting muscles normal of any military soldier. Divine wings spread from his back, covering the entire side in pure white feathers. A major abnormal quality however, is that Roe’s right hand is distended into a slightly longer claw, with nails sharpened into talons that seem to fuse into the skin layers, though it doesn’t appear to be any different from a human hand; veins don’t bulge, flesh isn’t inflamed, etc. Other, more mild abnormalities are that of his hair, which is relatively short and orange in color, fading down to red at the tips, and his eyes, which are an icy blue color, and seem to have a minor bioluminescence to them.
When not in combat situations, Roe’s attire is that of a single-breasted pinstripe suit, the jacket of which is either unbuttoned, or done in notched lapels. A standard waistcoat of similar style lies underneath, with a dark green undershirt and simple read tie beneath that. A pale green handkerchief bearing the Legion’s symbol is tucked into the breast pocket of the jacket, with a light brown fedora bearing a black stripe to complete the look. The pieces that stands out the most in this attire, and are by far the most unusual, are that of his army-issue combat boots and ILBE pack, which are always present on his body.
This pack seems to have a near-infinite storage capacity, with either tobacco or candy cigarettes, ammunition for his weapons, or his combat attire always within if not on his person, among other, seemingly random items.
His combat-ready attire’s main piece is that of a Modular Tactical Vest, which lacks the quick-release or Small Arms Protective Inserts, and is placed over his full US Marine field uniform. His M1 helmet has been outfitted with a simple radio and goggles, which have Low-Light, Electromagnetic, and Thermal vision capabilities.
His signature weapon, the M115 Dismemberer, is a personalized M1 Garand with the inscription ‘And this machine kills zombies’ written down the left side of the stock. The weapon is nearly identical to a normal M1 Garand, save that it uses a modified firing pin, a barrel two inches longer than a standard model, and a pistol grip-weighted stock combination to allow for easier single-handed firing. For close-quarters situations, a four-inch long M1 bayonet has been permanently affixed to the M115’s gas tube. An aesthetic touch done by Roe himself, the metallic components on the exterior of the weapon are engraved with dark red designs similar to circuitry.
A family heirloom passed down for generations, Saint Yumi’s Katana is a beautifully crafted 2’ 6” gleaming steel blade with a handle made of True Legion ‘wood’ bound with a cross-stitch of shark skin, the guard that of the True Legion’s symbol. Along the bottom of the blade, the names of those who wielded the blade before Roe are carved into the metal in Japanese writing, including Yumi’s name, which has a permanent bloodstain on it. This means Yumi’s very soul is bound to the blade. Unfortunately, this means that part of her mindset sort of melds with Roe’s, making him even less likely to take a punch, since Yumi can’t either.
Biography-Sergeant James Caiaphas Roe was born on a Golden Alliance Alt-Earth who managed to create an FTL beacon around the late 1940s thanks to WWII never breaking out, allowing for German engineering and American ingenuity to create said primitive FTL probe. Knowing the life of a GA middle-class for his childhood in Brooklyn, New York, Roe was Irish by lineage, but American by birth. His mother, Jessica Marie O‘Sullivan-Roe, was a medic in the planetary militia, while his father, Murphy Doyle Roe, was a bartender in west Queens. Regardless of his family’s inability to be there often due to their professions, Roe was none the less raised well by close neighboring families in their apartment complex, taking on a variety of interests from music to making Rube Goldberg machines. Combined with a decent education and a rather astute intellect for engineering, it was fairly obvious Roe would excel in fields relating to such.
Despite being partial to actually playing the guitar, as well as having dreams to work up the guts to become a musical artist, Roe decided to follow in his mother’s footsteps and join the military life, seeing his mechanical talents as something that could aid the greater good. Thus, Roe joined the Golden Alliance, beginning the grueling trainings necessary.
However, it seemed that while he served the role of an engineer perfectly, Roe seemed to have the accuracy that made even his instructor pause for a moment and consider him. While he wasn’t able to pick off a fairy-sized target from a mile out, he seemed to be able to hit almost anywhere in the range of about half of one, making him fit into the role well when, at least when he pulled his head up from an engine and finally noticed that he was being shot at. Whether this was because he recognized the threat or if he simply wanted to get back to working on machines is unknown, but became a joke often shared with his company that he didn’t seem to mind.
Regardless, Roe was made the designated marksman of his squad, given an M1 Garand rifle that was the standard of his 1940’s-era country. This became a weapon he maintained and cleaned with so much swiftness and care he even did so if putting only a single round through it during target practice on the final days of training.
What happens afterwards is where reports get a bit sketchy. Some time after being taken off-world and designated an Alt-Earth Marine Core rifle company, Roe’s unit was listed as being in several planet-based skirmishes against GAN pirates in the process of trying to capture and control GA worlds, breaking up riots, and taking down cultists that threatened the people. This unit, known as Saint Company, was apparently in heavy fighting with only a minor rate of battlefield deaths to a number of kills that far surpassed that of even a standard GA company of naval soldiers. That isn’t to say they were invincible however; Roe himself even caught a bullet in his shoulder and had to have invasive surgery to remove the round. Often they proved themselves over their enemies with superior squad-based tactics and heavy guerilla warfare in the concrete jungles so similar to their own Alt-Earth’s.
Sometime after their seventh engagement James had his name legally changed to Connor, though why this was done isn’t exactly known. It was often said to be the product of a drunken bet during down-time that Roe had obviously lost. Afterwards reports get even sketchier than before. Apparently interest was taken in the above-average Atl-Earth riflemen and women of Saint Company, so they seemed to be good candidates for a bit of an experiment the GA was attempting to improve its ground troops, at least that’s the gist of it.
This was called the Bonded Soldiers Project, revealed only months after Roe and Nika’s joining of MSFH, and in theory is relatively simple. Two soldiers are trained side-by-side and learn everything they can about one another, gaining a sort of camaraderie that brings them close together. From there, they go through a process of heavy magic and surgery in which this pair; who is partially determined by blood type, organ compatibility, etc. without even knowing so; have tissues, blood, and even organs swapped between them and bonded with heavy purity and body magic. This means that they can actually sense and feel one another to some degree. Often it doesn’t manifest, but they can sense things such as wounds, general emotions, and even when the other dies and they’re too far away to see it.
While this doesn’t sound all that grand to the normal sentient being, these two are also implanted with a few minor organs and glands to aid them with bursts of extra adrenaline, a superior cardiovascular system to clot wounds faster, etc. This makes the pair a nigh-unbreakable two-person team able to coordinate moves on the battlefield without so much as a sentence to one another. Toss this in with the latest armor and weapons, and you have a project that sounds like something out of sci-fi, but in practice was proven to work in the small-scale trials.
A little-known fact about Saint Company was that they were often deployed with another Alt-Earth company named East Company, which was, as the name states, hardened fighters who were generally from Alt-Earth ‘far eastern’ nations, such as China, Russia, Japan, etc. These ranged from empires to those witnessing the collapse of the Soviet Union. While the two companies were never the best of allies, they usually worked well together, aiding one another in many ways that prevented more deaths on both sides than if they’d basically ignored one another. Though there was an incident with a supply of stolen Soviet Alt-Earth weapons and valuables that they’d found in possession of GAN pirates, which ended in squads from both sides fighting each other with only their bare hands. At least until their sergeants informed the higher ups and melted the weapons with a hail of high-powered laser fire, then confiscated everything else.
Roe’s Bond was Nikole, a woman about his age at the time from a Post-Soviet Russia who hated her country’s past with a burning passion and seemed to have a greater-than-normal taste of vodka, and was always around a quiet Japanese-descended True Legion named Yumi. How a True Legion got into the GA military… is completely unknown. The three actually had crossed paths on the battlefield a few times, Roe giving the two credit for the sheer refusal to either give up a position or pass out from the numerous wounds they received fighting tooth and nail. Only during the project did he learn it was because Nika had fought in her world’s equivalent to the seond Battle of Stalingrad 40-some years afterwards, facing their own West German, Polish, and Finnish ‘allies’ in an uprising that actually did lead to the Union’s collapse. Yumi on the other hand was apparently so disciplined she could be close to bleeding out and she’d still stand at perfect attention if you ordered her to.
Highly intrigued by Nika and quickly becoming close to her to the point they often saw each other as non-fraternal siblings, Roe was almost never seen without her, and when he was they had what appeared to be a promisingly successful bond alongside a small handful of others. Nika was quick to take the berserker role and charge in guns-blazing or chainaxes swinging to draw enemy fire to her massive power armor, leaving the more lightly-armored Roe to pick them off at range with him Garand or join her with furious bayonet charges and gunshots. It’s actually unclear exactly what Nikole’s race was. Many report her being a normal human, while others report her as a True Legion like Yumi.
Their slews of violence were quick to get out of hand however, especially when they cruelly played with the last soldier of any engagement to the point of near-torture. This was later realized and revised when Roe began to notice what he was becoming. Desperate to turn himself around, he began falling back on his world’s Christian teachings. Nika, curious about this, ended up converting over and praying forgiveness for what she had to do, and both atoning for their… overly violent tendencies. They decided that were they ever to finish the program, they’d deal with only the wicked. This then lead to both of them leaving the ‘leader’ of their enemies alive and muttering a prayer before executing him with their Gale pistols. While religious as it was, it was a nice step down from beating someone to death with the skull of their former comrade, so their superiors allowed it.
After heavy training, challenges, and refining, it seemed as if Roe and Nika were ready to take on the world. They may have only been halfway through their training apparently, but they felt like they were done anyway…
…Then… they stumbled upon something. As it was later revealed in reports, the scientists that were developing and running this process with only the occasional check-in from the military, was using the project for their own gains. Audio logs detailed plans to sell the soldiers to the highest bidder as slaves. Technology to be sold to their enemies for hefty sums of credits. And continuing to experiment on the soldiers to the point of making rabid killing machines, forcing subjects through experiments and killing off whoever didn’t make it or proved to be a threat to them. Yumi’s bond ended up killed because of this final example, driving the Legion into a near-insane blood rage and murdering ten medical staff and scientists before she made it to the other bonds.
Having learned of the unspeakable horrors that were committed, the bonds rose up in a rebellion, but were quickly put down without the advantages of their weapons and armor, which were only given out during training and missions. From there any survivors of the crackdown were put through torturous experiments and shattering the minds of many, severing all Legion past the dampening that they’d already done to prevent them from telling others.
Roe ended up being one of the unlucky ones whose DNA helix just wasn’t perfect enough in the eyes of his captors. Through heavy body and entropy magic they steadily broke him and filled him with a boundless ball of pain and rage that took refuge within his mind, nearly shattering his perception of reality at any given point and driving him wild. In an ironic twist of fate, it was only because of this that he was able to escape alongside the few meager remains. During the chaos and trying to find Nika, Yumi was shot killed instantly by a Gale through her chest cavity, only giving Roe her blade before she passed. Muttering a hurried prayer and taking her ring as well, Roe, Nika and three others managed to escape the facility and managed to get off-world, a trail of slaughtered brethren at their backs.
During the FTL jumps they resolved themselves to the fact they would only survive and prevent this was to travel to the highest authority they could get to and tell them of the events that had transpired, offering whatever data and logs they’d managed to salvage during their mad dashes, as evidence.
After arriving to a high-powered GA planet and moving as quickly as possible from the spaceport, the five did their best to make it across the massive city they’d found themselves in and to the planet’s capital. Unfortunately, what they had feared had been true; they were still being hunted. Agents of their corrupt enemies had been shadowing their FTL jumps and sought to silence them. Within the first two hours they’d lost the other bonded pair. Ultimately Roe suffered the demise of a sniper round to the chest as they attempted to cross a bridge over the river out into the sea, and plummeted to his death…
Or so he thought. Though he didn’t know if Nika or the other soldier had made it, Roe arrived at MSFH under false memories, which were only ‘dispelled’ by MSFPD. Regardless, Roe now carries the weight of both pasts on his soul, the marks on his body only showing traces of his false life.
“… Still alive…? …Alright then. BLOOD FOR THE DRIED EARTH! BONES FOR THE STARVED PLANTS! Er… wait, no. Ah, screw it. Let‘s just go.”

Obsession: Roe-Due to the many months together through the hell of the Bonded Soldiers project, Nika is always trying to keep Roe out of danger. If he is attacked, she may lose focus on what she’s doing because of it.
Bad Timing-While Nika’s just fine shooting or hacking someone to death with a trademark combo of her sidearm‘s two ranges, she seems to have this thing about using two guns at once that didn‘t carry over from her false memories as a super soldier. While Eyblis, seemed to be able to only wield two guns at once, Nika seems to be the one who can’t akimbo anything at all without screwing up.

General Personality-Nika, like Roe, has a bit of a mean streak. Though she does have a soft and caring side, she is generally blunt and to-the-point, and often to a fault. She detests racism and pretentiousness, easily holding grudges against such individuals well beyond the need to do so. Though she can stay calm and collected, she is prone to resorting to violence quickly, either verbally of physically.
Despite this, she is undyingly loyal to aiding those in her hive when the situation demands for an extra fighter, and has few problems with helping those in need when the situation isn‘t one, so long as she’s not taken advantages of. Outside of the Legion, she is quick to help any of those she has befriended. Even with her faults, Nika is open-minded when it comes to making new friends, though it generally depends on her mood.
Regardless, she’s content to relax and have the occasional drink to take the edge off unless she’s in combat. When she is on the field of battle, she charges into the enemy with guns blazing, tearing through anything considered hostile. While she does have some form of self-control, she rarely exercises it, preferring to just tear everything in her path to bits if it’s not important to herself or her allies.
Normal Appearance-Nika’s body is relatively normal by True Legion standards, having a body shape of around a 4-DSU for her lanky frame, and skin of a very light shade of green. A major abnormality in her body is that her left eye is a blood red, bioluminescent color, having an acid green pupil that forms into the shape of three Sagittarius symbols pointing outwards from the center. Her right eye, however, often shifts from blue to green, depending upon the light around her. This, coupled with her long, talon-like fingers, are the two major features that define Nika’s body.
A more subtle, semi-common difference is that her hair is a red-brown color that fades to pink at the ends when cut. Her usual style for it is short in the front, going down only to her neck with a pair of long bangs on either side of her face, with the rest above her eyes anywhere else. In the back, her hair cascades down to the bottom of her spine.
Her usual non-combat/facet True Legion armor is a standard ‘wood’ pattern from her knees to her feet and elbows to finger tips, with a pair of yellow orbs in the middle of her upper arms. For actual ‘clothing,’ she wears a pair of tan shorts and an undershirt to preserve her modesty. On top of this, she dons actual manufactured clothing, consisting of blue skinny jeans and some form of shirt, depending upon the weather. Beyond this and a dark brown jacket in cases of rain, snow, etc., Nika rarely wears any other attire.
Like Roe, she too always wears manufactured, GA-issue standard combat boots, though her preferred method of carrying her belongings is a simple forest green backpack with similar properties to Roe’s ILBE.
Nika’s combat armor is a mixture of her Legion armor underneath a the Mark I Powered Light Armor, or Mk. I PLA. The Legion armor forms a suit of plating, which acts as an ‘undershirt’ for the armor. Said powered armor is a prototype, consisting of interlocking plates and servos with a small power pack on the back, which is covered over with Legion ‘wood’ patterns to protect it. Painted a forest green color and overgrown with plant life, the armor’s self-contained ecosystem allows for camouflage in tropical and temperate forests.
Nika’s primary weapon is Project Decay; a pair of self-replicating nanite colonies in her hands separate from her True Legion nanites connected into her nervous system. They allow her to break down items into their most basic atomic forms, storing and reconstructing them as she sees fit, usually with entropic enchantments due to a pair of Mahoucite crystals at the center of the colonies. So far, she is able to form three weapons. The first is a modified PTRS-41 Anti-Tank rifle, which is much more manageable in combat due to the smoother design, causing less frequent jamming. The other two are dual axes with whirling teeth running through the middle of the blade, able to rend flesh from bone and tear through armor with ease.
Her sidearm is a compact .60 caliber firearm designated the Mark III True Legion Pattern Gale Pistol, or, simply, the Mk. 3 Legion’s Gale. Firing an advanced lead round, commonly called a Gale, via explosive-kinetic means, the Legion’s Gale is a pinnacle of large-caliber pistols.
Standard Gales, unlike standard bullets, are not only large, but semi-explosive. A small explosive charge linked to a mass-reactive fuze and split-second timer makes up the center and tip of the round, which detonates after entering a target. In order to actually fire the Gale, a two-stage mixture of powders is used. The first actually propels the round out of the gun, which is a mixture similar to conventional black powder. The second is the equivalent of rocket fuel in a smokeless powder-like form, which ignites after the Gale leaves the pistol.
A less common, lower-powered Gale variant in Nika’s possession is a birdshot-like round that uses the equivalent of 12-Gauge buckshot packed into a .60 caliber shell. These Gales, called Storm Gales, have a much shorter range, and are best on soft targets. This is due not to the Gale’s feet-per-second however, as the propellant is the same. The Storm Gale does not have the same power due to the round’s lack of explosives, meaning that any Gale Pistol using it becomes little more than a handheld shotgun.
Biography-Nikole Gersch Belskaia is Roe’s blood-bond and second of the three ‘survivors’ of Golden Alliance Saint and East Alt-Earth Marine Core rifle companies. Born on the ‘Alt-Earrh’ Rytex, Nika’s life in the Soviet Union of the world wasn’t exactly… normal…
If one were to visit Rytex, they would probably notice that the planet’s native races are Humans, Devilings, and a hive of Legion under the Desert Queen, Eyblis. When the Legion arrived however is lost to time, but they follow post-war psychology, so they‘re often seen by the population as a gentle race. The second thing one would see is that its history is vastly different, like how the Americans were able to advance far enough along during technologically, to create primitive FTL drives and launch missions to other star systems.
The Soviet Union’s collapse was, for Rytex, a civil war. The Unions nations rebelled against their Communist leaders in a bloody conflict, loyalists and rebels fighting over every spec of land. Family against family, brother against brother. It tore the nations apart…
Nika was on the loyalists side; a young teen of only 17 taking on rebels with an AK-47. Details of Nika’s early life aren’t exactly famous history. From what is known, she was taken into the draft by the Soviet Loyalists to quell the uprising, hating every moment of it and wishing to turn her gun on her leaders. Eventually she did, escaping during their equivalent of a second Battle of Stalingrad into the tundra, until she stumbled into a rebel camp with only her gun and her military pack.
What happened afterwards is unknown, though details about the Russian do resurface a year later, after the Union’s collapse. Nika was unofficially taken in by the Legion, provided enough to get back onto her feet and split the profits with an immigrant Legion by the name of Yumi Turgosaki. For the next two years, the two lived in a half-decent apartment complex in the new United Russian Repulbic’s capital of Moscow, Yumi teaching martial arts classes and Nika serving as a waitress at a local bar and grill. Their lives were fairly normal; work, friends, the occasional party of event, etc.
One theory as to Nika’s joining the Legion was that she asked Yumi to Legionize her when she was drunk, wishing to not go through the pain of a massive hangover, though this theory is so random and yet at the same time possible that it’s unknown if that’s actually what happened… but as stated, it is unknown if and/or how she became a Legion.
Though… around the start of their third year living together, Nika seemed to feel… empty. She was a ferocious fighter, and once again she burned with the need to serve, though this time it would be for the greater of the GA, instead of loyalists she’d preferred to shoot. She couldn’t really explain it, but Yumi’s only response to the issue was stating that she would serve with her. The Legion’s reasons being her own beyond protecting a close friend.
From there, her story begins to intertwine with Roe’s until their escape from the Bonded Soldiers Project, and ends with his death. Nika herself perished on her way to spread the words of the horrors, running through back allies and firing Gales and shotshells as she took blow after blow from enemy fire. She perished less than a mile away from her destination, covering the last soldier left alive and bleeding out before she was even found…
Or so she thought. She arrived at MSFH, her mind not what it was and in its place the false life of a super soldier…
